How does it work?

Pay $5 to guarantee a spot in the championship. You will play at least 2 games of Jenga which will determine whether or not you go through to the grand final. You may book an entry in the second heat if you fail on the first heat, as long as all the spots haven't been booked already. Nightly winners from each Auckland Heat go through to the Auckland Final on Thursday 23 July 2022. Those who go through to the next round will be confirmed and announced on the night. The Auckland final will be played on a giant Jenga set. The overall winner of the Auckland Final will fly to Wellington for the New Zealand Final on Thursday 28 July at The Residence, 122 Courtenay Place, Te Aro, Wellington 6011. Ding Dong Lounge will pay for the return flight for the Auckland final winner from Auckland to Wellington, to the maximum value of $500. The flight from Auckland to Wellington must be on Thursday 28 July 2022 and the return flight must be on or before Sunday 31 July 2022 at the latest. Accommodation is not included in the prize. Accommodation must be arranged and paid for by the winner. All entrants must be 18 or over and be able to present valid ID if asked. All entrants must be available to attend the Auckland Final and New Zealand Final in Wellington.

Rules of the competition

  • Players can only use one hand at a time to touch the tower.

  • Each person has a turn moving the Jenga blocks from any level of the tower (except 3 below the top), then moving them to the top.

  • The game ends when the tower falls completely or if any block falls from the town other than the block the player moves in turn.

  • The person who causes the tower to fall completely is the loser while the opponent is the winner.
